Zusammenfassung:Provided is a novel method for producing an alkyl furan carboxylic acid ester. A method for producing an alkylfuran carboxylic acid ester, which comprises performing a redox reaction between an alkylfuran aldehyde and a compound represented by A-OH (wherein A is an organic group having 1-10 carbon atoms) in the presence of a catalyst and a base, the catalyst being an N-heterocyclic carbene having a pKa of 33.0 or less, and the alkali being a metal oxide having a pKa of 33.0 or less.
