The display device comprises a backlight module, a display panel and a control unit, wherein the control unit is electrically coupled with the backlight module and the display panel respectively, and the backlight module and the display panel can be controlled through the control unit. The control unit is configured to obtain display data and a display mode of the display device and determine target brightness information of the backlight module and target gray scale information of the display panel according to the display data and the display mode. Controlling the backlight module according to the target brightness information; and controlling the display panel according to the target gray scale information.
