Precipitated silica pretreated with a coupling agent and polyethylene glycol for rubber compositions. A pretreated silica material comprising silica particles, an organosilane coupling agent bonded to the silica particles, and a polyethylene glycol contacting the silica particles. The pretreated silica material may be used in a rubber composition that further includes one or more vulcanizable elastomers and a curing agent.
