Zusammenfassung:	The invention relates to the field of water treatment, and discloses a method for treating purified terephthalic acid production wastewater. The method comprises the following steps: (1) removing carbonate radicals and bicarbonate radicals; (2) hardness is removed, and suspended solids and/or solid particles are/is removed; (3) carrying out activated carbon aeration adsorption until the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) concentration in the wastewater is not higher than 15mg/L; (4) carrying out reverse osmosis until the TDS content in the concentrated solution is not less than 80000 mg/L; (5) carrying out electrodialysis until the TDS content in the obtained concentrated solution is not less than 140g/L; and (6) carrying out bipolar membrane electrodialysis, and respectively obtaining hydrobromic acid and sodium hydroxide in an acid chamber and an alkali chamber.
