The invention relates to a closing system for a beverage container, in particular a beverage can, comprising a lid (1) having an upper side and a lower side, the lid comprising a drinking opening (4), a closing member (20) for closing the drinking opening and an operating member (8) for manually closing the drinking opening by a user, wherein the closing member is located on the lower side of the lid and is fixedly connected to the operating member on the upper side of the lid, the closing member for closing the drinking aperture being configured to cover the drinking aperture in a closed position; the operating member and the closing member are movable along a first axis extending substantially parallel to an upper side of the lid, where movement of the operating member along the first axis in a first direction causes movement of the closing member from a closed position and opening of the drinking aperture.
