EPO variants and modulators

The present invention relates to modulators of negative function of at least one variant of non-erythropoietin (V-EPO) and pharmaceutical compositions or kits containing them. The negative function modulator of V-EPO may be a monospecific or multispecific antibody anti-EV3, anti-EV4, anti-EV1-4, anti-EV1-5, anti-EV1-1, or EV2-1, or an anti-Epo receptor (EpoR), anti-EPHB4, anti-CSF2RB, an antisense oligonucleotide, a DNA bait, an RNA bait, a ribozyme, an antiagomiR, shRNA, LNA, or siRNA. Several uses of these function modulators are described, which have been advantageously used as medicaments and for the treatment of neoplastic, proliferative, autoimmune and non-autoimmune chronic inflammatory diseases, for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and for the treatment of patients undergoing organ or tissue transplantation.
