Channel state information reporting

An apparatus and method in a communication system are disclosed. A channel predictor to be used in a connection between a base station and a terminal device is determined (602). The predictor is trained (610) using the connected channel state information and a prediction function determined to be used in both the base station and the terminal device. The base station calculates (614) a predicted state of the channel using the prediction function and transmits (616) the payload data to the terminal device.
