The preparation method of the oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst comprises the following steps: carrying out ball milling on a mixture of a carbon nano tube, a ruthenium source and a cobalt source to obtain a carbon nano tube/ruthenium/cobalt oxide composite material, namely the oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst. The oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst prepared through the method has high electrocatalytic activity and stability for oxygen evolution reaction, the performance of the oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst is obviously superior to that of a commercial iridium oxide catalyst, and the preparation method is easy to operate, environmentally friendly and beneficial to large-scale production.
