The invention provides an automatic rescue system and method for elevator car sliding, and relates to the field of elevator emergency rescue, the automatic rescue system comprises a detection unit, a processing unit and an ARD; the detection unit comprises a door area inductive switch and a car instruction inductive switch, the door area inductive switch is used for acquiring a position signal of an elevator car, and the car instruction inductive switch is used for acquiring an instruction signal of the elevator car; the processing unit is connected with the detection unit and the ARD and is used for controlling the working state of the ARD according to the position signal and/or the instruction signal acquired by the detection unit; when the elevator runs normally, the door area inductive switch sends a position signal to the processing unit every time the door area inductive switch passes through a landing, the processing unit compares the received position signal with the stored position signal, and if it
