The invention provides a BIM model version comparison system based on a Web technology. The BIM model version comparison system comprises the following modules: 1) a database module; 2) a BIM model analysis module; 3) a format conversion module; 4) a comparison calculation module; 5) a data visual module; and 6) a user interface module. The comparison method comprises the following steps: 1) analyzing a basic BIM model, and generating a basic geometric sub-model and a basic attribute sub-model; 2) analyzing the iterative BIM model, and generating an iterative geometric sub-model and an iterative attribute sub-model; 3) calculating the difference between the data of the two BIM models to generate a comparison result; 4) the data visual module displays difference data between the two BIM models; and 5) focusing the difference element on the user interface module, and positioning and displaying the change content of the difference element.
