Zusammenfassung: | The invention discloses an application of a TaPIF3 gene in regulation and control of a wheat plant type. The invention provides an application of a TaPIF3 protein or a related biological material thereof in regulation and control of plant types. The TaPIF3 protein is any one of the following proteins: (A1) a protein which has an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or is subjected to substitution and/or deletion and/or addition of one or more amino acid residues and has the same function; (A2) protein which has 99% or more, 95% or more, 90% or more, 85% or more or 80% or more homology with the amino acid sequence limited by (A1) and has the same function; and (A3) a fusion protein obtained by connecting a tag to the N terminal and/or C terminal of any one of the proteins defined in (A1)-(A2). Compared with a wild type, after TaPIF3 is over-expressed, the plant height is obviously increased, and the effective tiller number is obviously reduced.
