Zusammenfassung:A radar system (10) for vital sign monitoring, such as at least heart rate or respiration, and a radar system (10) for providing in-phase and quadrature signals from reflected radar waves and received radar waves by employing a radar system (10) configured for providing in-phase and quadrature signals from reflected radar waves and received radar waves are provided. A method of mitigating random body movement and external disturbing effects in vital sign monitoring, such as at least heart rate or breath, is provided. Problems of random body movement effects and external disturbances that affect vital sign monitoring are mitigated at least by decomposing and filtering the reconstructed displacement signal x (t) using time and frequency analysis techniques, such as short-time Fourier transform (STFT), followed by non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) operations. This decomposition allows for the identification of time and frequency-based components containing random body movement disturbances. Thus, the filte
