Comprising the following steps: S1, carrying out image noise reduction by adopting Wiener filtering; s2, carrying out binarization processing and threshold segmentation on the image; and S3, carrying out edge detection on the image. A clearer wire image is obtained through an image processing method, inspection personnel can identify defect states such as wire damage and strand breakage, an algorithm and a system can be directly transplanted to an unmanned aerial vehicle system, and the system is suitable for overhead wire inspection field application and good in universality.
