Ophthalmic pharmaceutical composition

The present invention provides a composition for treating ophthalmic diseases comprising a solid or semi-solid drug in the shape of an elongate body for injection or delivery to the tissue space of the eye. The composition may include a plurality of drug-containing particles and at least one excipient to shape the drug particles into a flexible solid or semi-solid. The excipient includes a substance that dissolves under physiological conditions of the tissue space after injection to disperse and migrate the microspheres in the tissue space.
