The inert matrix fuel of the SiC oriented composite ZrN ceramic is prepared by the following steps: mechanically mixing nano SiC powder and micron ZrN powder to obtain SiC oriented coated ZrN powder, carrying out pre-pressing molding on the SiC coated ZrN powder, heating to 1800-2100 DEG C in a protective atmosphere, pressurizing to 40-100 MPa, and carrying out hot pressed sintering or spark plasma sintering. The inert matrix fuel has good oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, and can be applied to nuclear reactors. 本发明属于陶瓷燃料领域,公开了一种SiC定向复合ZrN陶瓷的惰性基体燃料及其制备方法和应用。该SiC定向复合ZrN陶瓷的惰性基体燃料是将纳米SiC粉体与微米ZrN粉体机械混合,得到SiC定向包覆ZrN粉体,将SiC包覆ZrN粉体预压成型,在保护气氛中,升温至1800~2100℃,加压40~100MPa,进行热压烧结或放电等离子烧结制得。该惰性基体燃料具有较好的抗氧化、抗腐蚀和抗高温性能,可应用在核反应堆中。
