Zusammenfassung: | Various apparatuses, systems, methods, and media are disclosed to provide a heat assisted magnetic recording (HAMR) media. The HAMR medium includes a substrate, a heat dissipation layer on the substrate, and a plurality of magnetic recording layers on the heat dissipation layer. The plurality of magnetic recording layers includes a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer disposed on the first magnetic layer. The second magnetic layer comprises FePt-Ag-Cu-X, wherein X is a spacer comprising BN. The HAMR media may use a BN-based spacer to improve the thermal gradient of the HAMR media to achieve better areal density capability (ADC) and enable the use of an MgO underlayer having a reduced thickness.
