The method comprises the steps of periodically collecting average power of a plurality of data centers; for each data center, selecting the maximum value of a plurality of average powers of the data center in a specified time period as the maximum power; for each data center, determining a maximum power relative ratio according to an average number of a plurality of average powers of the data center in the specified time period and the maximum power; and determining a target data center of which the maximum demand is to be adjusted according to the maximum power relative ratio of the plurality of data centers.
