The invention relates to a device and method for detecting the hydraulic resistance of an aero-engine filter element, the device comprises a sleeve (2), an ejector rod (3), a base (5), a floating body (6) and an adapter tube (7), one end of the sleeve (2) is connected with the small end of the base (5), and the large end of the base (5) is connected with the adapter tube (7); the floating body (6) is arranged in the large end of the base (5), one end of the ejector rod (3) is detachably connected with the floating body (6), and the other end of the ejector rod (3) penetrates into the sleeve (2) along the adapter pipe (7) and the base (5). The method comprises the following steps: a, mounting the filter element (9) on the adapter tube (7), and plugging the filter element (9) by using the plugging cover (8); b, the device is placed in a container (11), an opening of the sleeve (2) is blocked, and the opening in the upper end of the sleeve (2) is opened until the installation edge of the base (5) is detected to
