Zusammenfassung:Provided are highly safe particles which have high scattering properties with respect to both visible light and ultraviolet light and also have a smooth texture. This light-scattering silica particle has light-scattering properties, has a plurality of hollow parts having a closed-cell structure inside the particle, and has a 50% particle diameter of 1-500 [mu] m and an average circularity of 0.8 or more. When the light-scattering silica particles are used, the reflectance (A) at an ultraviolet wavelength of 310 nm of a water cake having a silica content of 20 mg/cm2 per unit measurement cross-sectional area is 30% or more. 本发明提供对于可见光线和紫外线均具有高散射性且还具有顺滑触感的安全性高的颗粒。本发明的光散射性二氧化硅颗粒为具有光散射性的光散射性二氧化硅颗粒,在颗粒内部具有呈闭孔结构的多个中空部,前述光散射性二氧化硅颗粒的50%粒径为1~500μm,且平均圆形度为0.8以上,使用前述光散射性二氧化硅颗粒时的、单位测定截面积中的二氧化硅量为20mg/cm2的水滤饼在紫外线波长310nm处的反射率A为30%以上。
