The invention relates to a preparation method of a material intermediate, in particular to a synthesis method of 4, 4 '-p-phenylenedioxy diphthalic anhydride. The preparation method comprises the following steps: condensing hydroquinone serving as a raw material and p-nitrophthalonitrile under an alkaline condition to generate an intermediate, and further hydrolyzing and dehydrating to obtain anhydride, thereby obtaining the 4, 4 '-p-phenylenedioxybisphphthalic anhydride.
