Aspects of the technology relate to methods and systems capable of replicating microarchitecture contextual information when running applications are cloned (e.g., for faster function launch), migrated (e.g., to another core or machine), or persisted to secondary storage. The method may, for example, include extracting microarchitecture information from a first processing element, transmitting the extracted microarchitecture information to a first operating system, forwarding, by the first operating system, the extracted microarchitecture information to a second processing element, and instantiating a process at the second processing element using the extracted microarchitecture information.
