Vehicle as beacon

The present disclosure provides a vehicle as a beacon. A vehicle determines that a triggered state has occurred that is designated for user assistance to a user traveling away from the vehicle. The vehicle determines an alert action to be taken defined in conjunction with the trigger status, and determines that the user has not returned to the vehicle based on failing to detect the user wireless device.
