The modified zeolite composite diaphragm material is of a coated core-shell structure with an inner core and a shell layer, the inner core is zinc-doped zeolite; and the shell layer is titanium dioxide. The composite diaphragm material prepared by the method is outstanding in mechanical property and is used as a diaphragm material of a lithium-sulfur battery, a core-layer metal cation Zn < 2 + > can be used as an active site for adsorbing lithium polysulfide (LiPSs) and catalyzing related multi-electron redox reaction, and zeolite is used as a molecular sieve to limit shuttling of the polysulfide due to the pore size of the zeolite; the polar TiO2 molecules of the shell layer further limit the shuttle effect through chemical action, and the conversion of an intermediate product is accelerated.
