Zusammenfassung: | A method of diagnosing a fault includes receiving a signal from a component of a vehicle system, the received signal indicating a symptom of a fault in the vehicle system, and acquiring a set of test signals. The method further includes comparing the received signal with each test signal to determine at least one observability distribution, the observability distribution including observability values for each test signal, and determining a failure mode corresponding to the received signal based on the observability distribution. The determined failure mode represents a root cause of the symptom.
