Method for improving user equipment performance in DSS deployment

Wireless communication systems and methods relating to downlink performance of UEs in a wireless communication network are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication performed by a user equipment (UE), the method comprising: determining an interference level on a reference signal received from a serving base station operating a first radio access technology (RAT); and switching a radio access technology mode preference of the UE to a second RAT based on the determined interference level, the second RAT being different from the first RAT.
