The preparation method of the positive electrode material comprises the following steps: contacting the high-nickel ternary positive electrode material with an aqueous solution containing zirconium ions and an aqueous solution containing phosphate radicals, and roasting to generate zirconium hydrogen phosphate on the surface of the high-nickel ternary positive electrode material to obtain the coating layer. When the prepared positive electrode material is used for a battery positive electrode plate, high cycle stability is achieved.
