The method comprises the following steps: soaking the molybdenite with acid to remove impurities, and filtering to obtain refined molybdenite; the refined molybdenite is subjected to high-temperature oxidizing roasting, then a sodium molybdate solution or hydrogen peroxide is adopted to selectively dissolve out molybdenum from the molybdenum calcine, the obtained molybdenum solution makes contact with cation exchange resin or a cation extraction agent, and after impurity removal, a pure molybdenum solution is obtained. And putting the pure molybdenum solution into a high-pressure kettle, adding molybdenum trioxide powder and a regulating agent, and performing thermal decomposition to obtain molybdenum trioxide. And filtering, washing and drying the molybdenum trioxide to obtain molybdenum trioxide powder.
