Disclosed herein is a method of preparing an amino acid construct for use in the treatment and/or prevention of Sabebe virus infection, comprising: a. Comparing amino acid sequences of at least two different Sabebe virus spike proteins or fragments thereof; b. Identifying the same amino acids in the sequences of the at least two different sand shell spike proteins or fragments thereof; c. Removing any different amino acids from the sequences of the at least two different Sabebe virus spike proteins or fragments thereof to identify unique amino acid sequences; and d. An amino acid construct forming a unique amino acid sequence, wherein the amino acid construct has at least 90% sequence identity to the at least two different sand shell virus spike proteins or fragments thereof.
