Hydroxyalkylamide-based coating compositions

The present application relates to a coating composition comprising (A) one or more carboxyl group-containing poly (meth) acrylic polymers having an acid number in the range of from 120 to 500 mg KOH/g, the acid number being calculated for the unneutralized form of the one or more poly (meth) acrylic polymers, the one or more poly (meth) acrylic polymers are optionally at least partially neutralized; and (B) one or more compounds of formula (I) having on average at least 2 hydroxyl groups; wherein the residues R1 are independently from each other (CH2) n wherein n = 2, 3 or 4; the residues R2, independently of each other, are H or CH3; and the residues R3 are selected independently of each other from H and (O = C)-R1-(C = O)-R4, where the residues R4 are selected independently of each other from OH, ORa, where Ra is a linear or branched alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and N (CHR2CHR2OH) 2.
