The present application provides, inter alia, oral care compositions in which a stable amount of a non-ionic gelling thickener (e.g., hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)) is added to a formulation comprising a biguanide (e.g., chlorhexidine (CHX)) agent, allowing the formulation to have a suitable structure and consistency, and allowing it to be used as a gel or toothpaste, such as an oral care composition.
