A communication method and apparatus, the method comprising: after an AN device sends capability information of an access network AN device to a first communication device, at least one piece of information can be received. Wherein the capability information can indicate the maximum duration of resource scheduling of the AN equipment; any received information comprises information used for indicating a time range, the time range belongs to a value range of a first time interval, and the duration corresponding to the time range is smaller than or equal to the maximum duration; the first time interval is a transmission interval between every two adjacent data bursts of the first service flow. The AN device determines a first resource for transmitting a data burst of the first traffic flow according to the at least one piece of information. Through the scheme, the AN equipment can inform the first communication equipment of the maximum time length, so that the first communication equipment determines the time ra
