The invention relates to a steering wheel for a motor vehicle, comprising a steering wheel body (2) which has an inner steering wheel core (1) and at least one groove (4) which is formed in the steering wheel body (2) and which surrounds the circumference, said groove having a groove base (4c) and groove side walls (4b) for receiving free ends (3a, 3b) of a strip of a covering (3) in a stationary manner.
