Zusammenfassung:Systems and methods for optimized tracking of objects in a surgical workspace. A tracker is disposed relative to the object, the tracker including a marker of a predefined geometry for tracking a pose of the tracker in the surgical workspace. A locator camera cooperates with the tracker to generate image data indicative of a spot for each of the markers generated by light signals received from the markers. A characteristic of each spot is obtained and the obtained characteristic is compared to an optimal characteristic.
