The invention discloses a variable tap gamma amplifier and a gamma voltage generator. In an implementation described herein is a gamma voltage generator including: a first resistor string connected between a 0-th terminal and a first terminal and outputting a first gamma voltage; a zeroth gamma amplifier that outputs a zeroth tap voltage to a zeroth terminal by using a zeroth reference voltage; a first variable tap gamma amplifier outputting a first tap voltage to the first terminal by using a first reference voltage; and a gamma control logic circuit selectively activating the first tap change signal based on a first gray scale ratio of the first line data.
