The preparation method specifically comprises the following steps: (1) activating red mud (RM); and (2) preparation of the ARM/NiOOH composite material. The adopted red mud raw material is rich in source, meanwhile, the nickel-based material is rich in substance, low in price, non-toxic and harmless, and most importantly, the nickel-based material has good adsorption performance, so that the nickel-based material is often used as an adsorption material. 一种用于染料废水吸附的赤泥基ARM/NiOOH吸附材料的制备方法，具体制备方法如下：①赤泥（RM）活化；②ARM/NiOOH复合材料制备。本发明所采用的赤泥原料来源丰富，同时镍基材料物质丰富、价格优廉、无毒无害，最主要的是其具有良好的吸附性能，因此经常被作为吸附材料。
