The method comprises the following steps: acquiring an infrared image data set of substation target equipment; performing shape reconstruction on the boundary of the infrared image to obtain a reconstructed digital boundary, and extracting global features of the digital boundary; acquiring curvatures of all boundary points on the digital boundary; extracting local features of the digital boundary according to the curvature; fusing the global features and the local features to obtain a multi-modal shape descriptor of the digital boundary; and performing feature extraction on the infrared image according to the multi-modal shape descriptor to obtain multi-modal features of the infrared image. The method comprises the following steps: outputting a shape reconstruction image of an infrared image through a correlation algorithm of embedding a multi-modal shape descriptor; the method ensures that the
