Communication system and method for nuclear reactor equipment

The invention provides a round-trip communication transmission system and method for nuclear reactor equipment. The system includes a first tool and a second tool, both including first and second tool controllers, the first tool and the second tool being placed on a platform, the platform adjacent a face of the nuclear reactor, and an equipment controller communicatively coupled to the first and second tool controllers, wherein the equipment controller is configured to receive a communication from the second tool controller, where the communication includes an identifier of an operating state of the second tool, the equipment controller is further configured to generate a control signal to control the first tool based at least in part on the identifier of the operating state of the second tool, and transmit the control signal to the first tool controller.
