Time-based traffic routing

Techniques described herein enable the use of time factors for traffic management and routing. A system is configured to analyze traffic for a service over a period of time, and identify (e.g., learn) traffic patterns that reflect substantial effects of the traffic during a particular real-world event. Using traffic patterns identified via analysis, the system may provide valuable time-based traffic information to the service provider. The service provider may then create a predefined time-based profile that is used by the traffic manager to switch from the current traffic routing configuration to a different traffic routing configuration that better accommodates the expected traffic load for the various endpoints.
