Provided is a dual-bearing reel that suppresses an increase in size in the axial direction of a reel body on the handle side and has good operability. The driving gear shaft (41) is provided with a shaft base end part (41a) rotatably supported on a right side plate (11A) of a frame (11) and a shaft tail end part (41b) rotatably supported on a right cover (12) and connected with a handle (20), and the driving gear shaft (41) is rotatably arranged on a reel body (10); a roller clutch (60) provided at the shaft base end (41a) and restricting rotation of the drive gear shaft (41) in one direction; a holder (61) that restricts the movement of the drive gear shaft (41) in the axial direction with respect to the reel body (10); and a stopper gear (62) that is disposed closer to the right side plate (11A) than the retainer (61) in the axial direction of the drive gear shaft (41) and that switches the clutch mechanism (50) from the disengaged state to the transmission state on the basis of the rotation of the drive ge
