Chuck, cutting tool and assembly

An assembly (10) includes a chuck (12) having a tool receiving socket (16), a contact surface (18), and a thread (20); and a cutting tool (14) having a tool shaft (38), a mating contact surface (44), and a mating thread (40). In a clamped state, the mating thread (40) of the cutting tool (14) is screwed into the thread (20) of the chuck (12), the mating contact surface (44) of the cutting tool (14) is in position against the contact surface (18) of the chuck (12), and the tool shaft (38) is clamped in the tool receiving socket (16) by means of friction in a torque-transmitting manner.
