Device and method for continuously diluting sample mixture

The present disclosure relates to a device and a method for continuously diluting a sample mixture, the device comprising a fluid cartridge comprising: a first chamber configured to receive a sample and a first reagent to form a sample mixture (1); a metering chamber configured to meter a first portion of the sample mixture (1); a third chamber configured to receive a second portion of the sample mixture (1) and a third reagent to form a sample mixture (3); wherein the metering chamber is connected with the first chamber, and the third reagent is a dry or dehydrated reagent.
