Optical system including optical multiplexer

An optical system (230) includes an image sensor (231), a reference sensor (232), and an optical multiplexer (300). The optical multiplexer defines a first region for receiving a first portion of incident light and a second region (320) for receiving a second portion of incident light. The second region radially surrounds the first region. The optical multiplexer is arranged to direct a first portion of the incident light to the image sensor (231) and a second portion of the incident light to the reference sensor (232).
