The method comprises the following steps: acquiring road network data and night light images in a to-be-accounted area; generating a road network skeleton in the to-be-checked area according to the road network data; generating a road night grating image of the to-be-checked area according to the road network skeleton and the night light image; determining a road area estimation value in the to-be-checked area according to the road night grating image; and according to the material strength and the road area estimation value, calculating the urban road material stock of the to-be-calculated area by adopting a method from top to bottom.
