A system for controlling a clutch for controlling the transmission of torque around a shaft to a vehicle is provided with: an operating member capable of rotating around the shaft; a motor that is drivingly coupled to the operating member and imparts a rotational motion about the shaft to the operating member; a conversion mechanism that is drivingly coupled to the operating member and converts a rotational motion about the shaft into an axial motion; a clutch member constituting the clutch, the clutch member being drivingly coupled to the switching mechanism so as to be driven by the axial movement, the clutch member being bidirectionally movable in the axial direction from a first position at which the clutch is disengaged, via a second position, to a third position at which the clutch is coupled; and a controller that determines which of the first position, the second position, and the third position the clutch member is in by reading a rotation angle of the motor and comparing the rotation angle with a re
