The present disclosure relates to a method of manufacturing a building panel (10), comprising: providing a core (1); applying a first paper layer (2) on the first surface (11) of the core (1), wherein the first paper layer (2) comprises a resin-impregnated paper (2a); applying refined lignocellulosic fibres (3) on the first paper layer (2); applying a wood veneer layer (4) above the refined lignocellulose fibers (3); pressure is applied to the core (1), the first paper layer (2), the refined lignocellulosic fibers (3) and the wood veneer layer (4) to form the building panel (10).
