Search space set group handover for cross-carrier scheduling

Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication that provide for configuration and handover between multiple sets of search space sets based on an activated serving cell or activated resources for one or more serving cells. An access network entity may configure multiple sets of search space sets, and a user equipment (UE) may monitor control information in the activated sets of search space sets. A first set of search space sets may be activated based on the serving cell being activated, and the UE may switch to a second set of search space sets when the serving cell is deactivated. Search space set group handover may also be performed based on one or more activated bandwidth portions (BWPs).
