METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING DIRECT COMMUNICATION PATH FROM PC5 TO Uu

A method and apparatus for supporting a direct communication path from a PC5 to a Uu are disclosed. The method includes the second user equipment communicating with the first user equipment via a PC5 unicast link established between the first user equipment and the second user equipment. The method also includes the second user equipment receiving a path switch request message from the first user equipment, wherein the path switch request message indicates a path switch to the Uu. The method further includes the second user equipment determining to accept the path switch request message according to at least the Uu signal level.
