An example electromagnetically actuated clearance control system for a gas turbine engine includes an electromagnetic coil coupled to a first end of a panel, the electromagnetic coil generating a magnetic field in response to connection of a power source; a ferromagnetic sheet coupled to a second end of the panel, the ferromagnetic sheet being pulled radially inward toward the electromagnetic coil when a magnetic field is generated, a first end of the ferromagnetic sheet being coupled to a first compression spring and a second end of the ferromagnetic sheet being coupled to a second compression spring, the first compression spring and the second compression spring compress in response to the ferromagnetic sheet being pulled radially inward.
