Zusammenfassung:The smart card reader has a surface (5) at the base of a recess in the telephone casing which accepts a card. The surface (9) supports a large card. Electrical contacts (3) pass through a hole (8) in the card support surface, with the level of the contacts raised slightly above the surface. To hold a small card in position, an adaptor plate (7) is fitted in the card recess. The small card fits entirely into a hole (15) in the adapter. The adaptor is formed from a steel sheet of the same thickness as the small card, and attaches to the recess via clips (13) round its edges which engage notches (11) in the edge of the main recess.
