Zusammenfassung:The invention relates to a method for producing a magnet material, a method for producing a rotor of an electric motor, a method for producing an electric motor and a magnet material. The method for producing a magnet material has: a demagnetization step of heating a shaped permanent magnet in the presence of a reducing substance having a stronger reducibility than nitrogen molecules, the permanent magnet being irreversibly demagnetized by thermal demagnetization; and a cooling step of cooling the demagnetized permanent magnet to manufacture a molded magnet material. A magnet material having a thickness of 30 [mu] m or more contains a rare earth element and a transition metal element as main components.
